The Pirates' Code, as set forth by The Pirate Lords
Respect.
Negative comments will not be tolerated. If you have a problem, please contact either the official Moderator account or the official Moderator e-mail.
No Mutiny.
This means:
+ No name-calling.
+ No uprisings/revolts.
+ All Moderator/Admin decisions are final; please respect our actions.
Religious and Political Discussions are NOT Off Limits.
However, this does not mean that you can go into any old thread and debate, bash, and abuse those with different points of view. Please keep your political comments to as much of a minimum as possible. Religious topics and discussions may get more detailed, however. Just please keep respect key. Any topics that turn into a religious debate or political debate (especially those turning vicious) will be immediately closed.
No Strong Profanity.
No offensive images, posts or anything of the like will be tolerated. If such things appear on the site, the person who posted them will have their account deleted, end of discussion. We want to keep this forum PG-13.
Keep it On Topic!
Please always try and keep discussions on the topic they were intended to be talked about. No one word or two word posts are allowed. Such posts, if they violate this rule, will be deleted by the Moderators as they see fit.
Agreement.
Do not completely reiterate other posters' comments. If you agree with a previous post, that's fine, but try to keep messages consisting of 'I agree' or 'Yeah." at a minimum. Remember every time you make a one-word post a baby penguin dies!
Contest Regulations.
+ No 'least favorite' contests
Please, no contests asking voters to choose their least favorite entries. This can make someone feel terrible if they've just begun making graphics or if they worked really hard. Respect their work and do not bash - constructive criticism is allowed however.
+ No personal contests
Please do not start contests that ask voters to vote on such things as pictures of members in real life or anything similar: such contests turn into beauty contests, which we do not want. Also, it is easy for a guest to come on and swipe your personal picture which creates a messy stalker situation that we Mods do not want to deal with.
The Moderators' Promise.
Since you as members, have done your very best to obey these previously stated rules, we, as Mods (AND fellow members), will promise a few things to YOU. First, Mods will not interfere with innocent posts (posts with no profanity, nudity, viciousness ect.) just because they can or don't agree with what's been posted. Second, no member’s posts/polls/threads will be deleted or edited without very good reason (like the reasons already stated in the above rules). For the sake of eliminating any inferiority between Moderators and members, we Mods will only use our “powers” when the need arises (or, like, for uploading emoticons and new layouts). And lastly, at least one mod will always be here (or try to be) to help you when you need it. We do not intend to make anyone wait for forever to get help.
Thus we promise to keep the site running smoothly and to ensure no abuse of the mod power.
Rule-breaking and Warnings.
We don't like having to deal out punishments, but sometimes we need to in order to keep the peace and prevent hurt feelings. Frequent breaking of the more severe rules will result in one warning and if the member(s) keep up, we must suspend them for the time of our choosing, based on the intensity of the post. If after a while the member brings this up again, it will result in permanent banning from the site and/or deletion of the offending account.
+ 1st Offense -
Will result in a warning by a Mod
+ 2nd Offense -
A short suspension based on which rule was broken
+ 3rd Offense -
A longer suspension based on which rule was broken
+ 4th Offense -
No one should get to this point, but if so, a permanent banning and suspensions will be handed out to those that broke the rules.
Please respect these rules and those who spent their free time to come up with them. We ask that you obey everything that is posted here and keep the peace of the forum. Keep to the Code, mates.
Thank You.
